Description: Runners can always use a boost, and in 2013 Adidas gave it to them, literary, with a revolutionary shoe that returns energy to the runner more effectively than any other. But we didn’t only talk about the product, we showed consumers how it works letting them be a part of the demo.
We built a game and a walkway at the entrance of the Santiago de Chile marathon expo capable of harvesting renewable energy from footsteps of all 25,000 runners that arrived to pick up their bib numbers. The energy they created was stored, and just like the Boost shoe, we returned it to these runners when they needed it most powering a screen with messages of support in the last mile of the race.
We tracked every runner through their unique bib number and made “Boost” personal with videos, photos and messages their family and friends uploaded on our site or recorded at the expo before the race.
